         Functions:

1. To decide the phasing and to co-ordinate construction programmes of Sardar Sarovar Project Unit-II Canals with a view to obtaining expeditiously optimum benefits during and after the completion of the construction of the project having due regard to the availability of funds.

2. Obtaining from the concerned States periodical progress reports both as to works and expenditure, and on receipt of such reports review the progress of construction of different sub-units of the project (Unit-II) and whenever necessary advise the States concerned on the steps to be taken to expedite the works.

3. Scrutiny and approval of design of the Narmada Main Canal.

4. Resolving differences, if any, arising between Rajasthan and Gujarat on figures of cost in respect of Narmada Main Canal for the purpose of sharing of cost.

1. Monitoring of power and energy generated at power stations of Sardar Sarovar Project (SSP) Complex and ensuring the sharing among the beneficiary States.

2. Monitoring of transmission lines for evacuation of power from SSP power stations to the beneficiary States.

Functions:
1. Releases Ex. Maheshwar and likely inflow/water levels in the Sardar Sarovar during the coming month.

2.  Preparation of working table for operation of Sardar Sarovar Reservoir.

3.  Irrigation requirements of GoG & GoR during the coming month (weekly/ten daily).

4.  Requirement for operation of IBPT, if any, to meet the requirement of irrigation of GoG /GoR.

5.  Permitted withdrawals for irrigation.

6.  Requirement of water use downstream of the Sardar Sarovar Project (Mandatory /against the indent of GoG).

7.  Water Accounting – Account of the water utilization by each of the party States during the water year upto end of previous month and the proposed utilization during the coming month.

8.  Likely generation of power through CHPH and RBPH during the month.

9.  Working out the loss of power due to running of IBPT.
